The Gentex version of the Personnel Armor Support Ground Troops (PASGT) helmet currently produced conforms to U.S. Military specification Mil-H-44099A, but weighs less and incorporates an improved retention and suspension system for added comfort and stability.
The new PASGT helmet offered by Gentex features an adjustable, integrated chin/nape strap with left and right side quick release buckles and a leather lined chin cup. Manufactured with tubular nylon webbing, the retention system combined with the impact protective rear nape pad provides improved stability and increased protection during tactical and emergency response operations. The suspension system includes a crown pad and foam lined leather headband for added comfort and stability. The shell interior is lined with energy absorbing foam for increased protection during riot control operations.
Optional accessories include the FS-40 Riot Face Shield, which meets the ballistic, impact and fastening test of NIJ standard 0104.02, Nape Protector, Night Vision Goggle Bracket, GenComIII or General Duty Headset (GDH) communication kits with lower cables adaptable to a variety of radios, and the Gentex EPS-21 or Ballistic Optical Armor (BOA) Goggles for additional eye protection.
The helmet is available in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. The outer shell has a textured surface and is available in a variety of colors: Black, Olive Drab, Green 383, CHP Blue, UN Blue, Desert Tan, and Foliage Green.
