An optional performance optics upgrade to our full line of helmet systems, Gentex Laser Visors provide exceptional protection from highly specific laser threats including the 1064nm - or Neodymium: Yag. The visors are available in Optical Densities (OD) ranging from OD 4 to our highest option for absorbing laser energy, OD 6; and their Total Light Transmission is approximately 60%.
Each laser visor offers the same fragmentation impact protection level as a standard visor and comes complete with hard coating on both visor surfaces of the lens IAW MIL-C-83409, to reduce scratching and scuffing. It offers 98% UV(A), UV(B) and UV(C) protection and its laser protective capabilities are not compromised after exposure to high and low operating temperatures.
This exceptional option is easily attached to the helmet by the same mechanism as standard visors, and is available in MBU-20/P, MBU-23/P, MBU-12/P and MBU-14/P oxygen mask trims or a Step-in Visor for use with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
Several different single wavelengths and multiple wavelengths in the same visor are available with other wavelengths (or "lines") available upon request.
