Designed for the U.S. Navy to reduce the risk of parachute riser entanglement with the oxygen mask bayonet and the bayonet receiver during ejection from an aircraft, the Anti-Snag Bayonet Receiver Kit is engineered by Gentex and evaluated by the U.S. Navy. Its special "riser slap" deflection was tested in numerous aircraft and aircrew ejection scenarios.

The universal oxygen mask bayonet and bayonet receiver deflectors include a cover installed on the HGU-68/P helmet as well as one that attaches to the MBU-23/P or MBU-12/P oxygen mask bayonet. The bayonet receiver cover includes a contour side to allow a smooth transition between the helmet and the bayonet receiver.

The oxygen mask bayonet receiver cover consists of a bayonet ramp cover and a bayonet tab cover. Collectively, the units cover potential snag areas during aircraft ejection.

The U.S. Air Force also uses the Anti-Snag Bayonet Receiver Kit on the HGU-55/P aircrew helmet.
